We fished Fort Lauderdale canals, inlets, and mangroves. The 3/8 ounce lures seemed to hold better below the surface with a slow retrieval. We caught Jack Crevalle with no bait or synthetics what so every to my surprise, what a great fighting fish to catch when you are stuck inside due to east winds ocean side. They hit the Shoal Shredders and Hollow Points. We also happen to catch a few Snook on the Shoal Shredders with a color matching rubber worm. It was a great time and we learned so much about color and lighting working together to attract these fish. I had a 20+ pound Jack fly in from a deep current into the shallows from about 40 feet out on one specific color. After a few long runs that were close to emptying the spool of 20 lb braid, I became anxious and tried to muscle the fish to the boat only to snap the braid. With all the Barracuda, I quickly started running out of the few lures I brought. We plan on hitting the west coast, gulf side for some more action and potentially new species.
